NEW YORK (AP) -- Pop singer Britney Spears is condemning Us Weekly magazine for publishing photos of her honeymoon.
She says she allowed staff at the resort in the Fiji Islands to take the photos after they were assured the pictures were for private use in a scrapbook the couple was given as a souvenir.
Spears says other magazines contacted them when presented with the photos and agreed not to publish them. Spears thanks them for respecting her privacy.
Us Weekly, however, isn't backing down.
In a statement to The Associated Press, the magazine says "Coming from a celebrity who sold pictures of both her wedding and her stepdaughter, it's unlikely the issue here is privacy." It suggests Spears is upset because she wasn't paid for the photos.
